Who we are

This website is operated by SET SCAFFOLDING LTD (“SET Scaffolding”, “we”), a scaffolding business based in Maldon, Essex. Our registered office is 20 Browning Road, Maldon, England, CM9 6BU. Company number 17001804.

What we collect

When you submit the enquiry form we collect the details you provide: your full name, email address, telephone number (if you give one), the project postcode, whether the project is domestic or commercial, the type of scaffolding required (if you select one), your preferred start date (if you give one), and the project details you describe.

For security and to help prevent abuse of the form, we also record the time of submission, the IP address the enquiry was sent from and your browser's user-agent string.

We also record two pieces of non-identifying information about how you reached the site: a broad channel label (for example “organic” if you arrived from a search engine) and the first page of the site you landed on. This tells us which pages generate enquiries. It does not include the web address you came from, any search term, or anything that identifies you.

Human verification

The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that submissions come from a person rather than an automated script. When you use the form, Cloudflare receives technical information about your browser and your IP address in order to make that assessment, and we send Cloudflare the resulting verification token to confirm it. This is necessary for the form to work; without it we cannot accept the enquiry. You can call us on 07779 167487 instead if you would rather not use the form. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this check.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange a quotation.
• To contact you about the work you have asked about.
• To keep a record of enquiries and to protect the form from spam and misuse.
• To understand, in broad terms, which pages and channels bring us genuine enquiries.

We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for marketing. There is no marketing sign-up on this website, and submitting an enquiry does not add you to any mailing list.

Lawful basis

We process your enquiry on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business securely.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. We keep them that long so we can deal with your request, answer any follow-up, and keep a record of work quoted or carried out.

We review our enquiry records every three months and delete those that have passed that point. If you would like yours removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.

Sharing

We do not sell your details or share them for marketing. They are handled only by the service providers we rely on to run this website, and only on our instructions:

• Laravel Cloud (running on Amazon Web Services) hosts the website and the database your enquiry is stored in. Both are located in the London (eu-west-2) region.
• Cloudflare delivers the website and provides the Turnstile human-verification check described above.
• Google (Google Workspace) carries our email. Your enquiry itself is not emailed anywhere — it is stored in the database above and read there — but if we reply to you by email, that reply passes through Google.

We may also share your details where we are required to by law.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.

To make a request in writing, use the enquiry form on our contact page and say clearly that your message is a data-protection request. The form is monitored, and submissions are recorded and kept, so it is a written route and not merely a way of getting in touch. You can also call us on 07779 167487 if you would prefer to speak to someone, though a written request is easier for us both to keep track of.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
